An anthropologist's point of view:

now. What it actually is about is Baptism into the fraternity of the new Religion - complete with mandatory dress code, segregation of the "flock" (herd) and regular purification rituals.

By declining the wack-scene, one declares oneself to be an Unbeliever and a Heretic - a Leper Outcast Unclean, Unrepentant of one's Original Sin.

The virus is the orthodox God of humanity now, and like all Gods it is invisible, capricious, omnipotent and immortal.

CJ Jung warned us what would happen if we became so secular we made no room for any kind of healthy spirituality in our lives ... it would simply replace itself with something far more destructive.
